The Marine Corps Reserve held it's annual Toys for Tots Drive at the Toy-R-Us located in Olympia. This annual event is dedicated to collecting toys for children who otherwise may not get a present for Christmas.  The event has been held every year for nearly 50 years and continues to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children nationwide.

This year, a WSP Sergeant was asked to be the Marine Corps Representative and local organizer. The sergeant wasted no time getting Toys-R-Us to donate money and toys and he called on his sons Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troops to do the shopping.  He also asked the WSPTA to donate our trailer for collecting the toys and working at the store to help with the set up and take down of banners and window stickers.  The event was a big success as close to $4,000 was spent on toys that will be given to children here in Thurston County on December 17th, just in time for Christmas.
